The opaque internet censorship - Jeremy Goldkorn

Hardly anybody, including government officials at the core of the internet, know or can explain how China's filtering of the internet really works. Danwei's Jeremy Goldkorn explains Business Week that is part of how the system works.
“One of the reasons why the Great Firewall is so effective is that the boundaries are so opaque,” said Jeremy Goldkorn, the Beijing-based founder of Danwei.org, a web site that reports on Chinese media. “People are left to guess, so they tend to be more conservative” in the content they provide.
